SAMSONOV and SCHLAGER cannot avoid extra-time
15/04/2010 - In the fourth match of HYUNDAI Asia-Europe All Stars Series day2, Vladimir SAMSONOV inflicted the pain on the host nation supporters by winning the opening set against triple world champion WANG Liqin, 15:13. The response from Chinese star was immediate; he took the second game by the storm 11:6.
WANG continued in express line determined to avenge the defeat he suffered two days ago against Michael MAZE. WANG beat SAMSONOV and brought Asia one step further to additional match. Europe has one more chance to finish the match in "regular" part.
Experienced ace Werner SCHLAGER, world champion from Austria gave Europe good start of the final match of the regular part of the Event. CHEUNG Yuk of Hong Kong never won the match at the two appearances at the HYUNDAI Asia-Europe All Stars Series and after poor opening, he grabbed his chance and leveled the game against SCHLAGER. Austrian won next game 12:10, but CHEUNG held the grip tight and leveled once again. The decisive game went to account of CHEUNG.
In the additional match Jun MIZUTANI will play against Jorgen PERSSON.
